This is a venture which begins with a race car on a NASCAR track, but evolves into the
development of a national brand and the weaving of various constituencies into a network of
concerned Americans dedicated to assuring access to higher education for those less
fortunate. This is Racing For Education.

Diversity Motorsports Racing ("DMS Racing") brings an opportunity for the Historically Black
Colleges & Universities ("HBCU"s) and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities
("HACU"s) to develop a funding stream that is not held hostage to the political climate. Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune is quoted as saying: "Education is the key to freedom and knowledge is the prime need of the hour”. If that is true, then the opportunity for a quality education cannot
be diminished by lack of funding.

All people deserve a chance to achieve at the highest levels, no matter their circumstance or economic status. Both of these organizations, the HBCUs and the HACUs, provide access to higher education that for many may only be a dream. In these precarious economic times, funding for education at all levels is being cut by city, county, state and Federal governments. Both of these two groups (HBCUs & HACUs) must develop diverse and creative “out-of-the–box” methods of funding that are available no matter what the circumstances are. Racing For Education ("RFE") is just that method.
